Product Details

Our timber alternative windows come in two configurations storm-proof and flush. Flush windows were common in pre 1950's homes and are made up of outward opening casements that when closed sit flush with the frame of the window. Storm-proof windows became popular in the 1960's as they offered a solution to the growing demand for a cheaper window that could be manufactured quickly and offered enhanced weather resistance. A storm-proof windows is a casement windows with outward opening casements where the casements sits proud of the frame when closed.

Many of the features found on traditional timber windows have been considering in the design of our range of timber alternative windows. We offer a wide range of configurable options to ensure we can design a window that looks at home on your property as much as the original timber windows. Georgian Bars 

Traditional hand-applied Georgian Bars are one of the stand out features of our timber alternative range. Designed and manufactured to match the proportions of traditional timber windows our Georgian bars make your new windows instantly recognisable as a period feature.

Authentic Hardware 

Working peg-stays, monkey tail handles and a range of other modern and traditional styled hardware all available in a range of materials. Our hardware range helps to add character to your new windows as well as allowing us to style the window to match both modern and period properties.

Colours

Our timber alternative windows are available in a range of over 200 colours all designed to imitate the look of hand painted oak windows. We can also supply a range of stained wood grain finishes including Irish Oak, Rosewood and Natural wood.

Weather Bars

We can install a range of weather-bars and mullions on your new windows to match original details found on your original timber windows. Often installed on original timber windows as a raised horizontal bar to help drive running water away from the window and strengthen the main mullion.

Energy Efficiency

All of our windows are highly energy efficiency and come with double glazing as standard with an overall A rating and U value of 1.3. Our windows can be further improved with triple glazing for enhanced energy efficiency.

Deep Proportioned Cill

Authentic timber proportioned cills to maintain the look of timber down to the finest detail. All cills are supplied in a matching finish to the window frame in either a wood-grain finish or coloured with a wood grain detail to match the look of timber.

Low Maintenance

Unlike traditional timber windows that require regular painting to maintain there appearance our timber alternative windows require very little maintenance. Washing with water a couple of times a years is all that is required to keep the windows looking there best.

Glazing

A wide range of glazing options including traditional features such as leaded lights. We can also supply different types of glass including acoustic glass for enhanced sound proofing, triple glazing for enhanced energy efficiency and various decorative units to enhance the overall look.
