Bygone Melody banner

Melody by Bygone featured the same sash profiles and frame as those found on both Harmony and Symphony, in addition to the authentic wood grained textured acrylic foil on all profiles.  With continuous run thorough horn and every deep bottom rail featuring the traditional butt jointed construction (the others being mitred), the perfect appearance is achieved.

Key specification:

  • Authentic textured acrylic foil across all profiles
  • 24mm “A rated” sealed units, filled with Argon gas allowing internal Georgian bars, glazing beads and chamfered external bars offering the ‘putty-line’ traditional glazed appearance.
  • Fully “secured by design” compliant, police preferred sash windows specification due to the fully steel reinforced sashes and the Acorn or Beehive designed stainless steel clawed cam catches.

Standard glazing bar and bead

Melody offers our standard 24mm sealed Argon filled units (4:16:4mm).  Steel reinforced as standard, harmony is also secured by design and "A rated”.

Although Melody do not feature the deep bar, they still interlock to form a grille which is firmly attached to the glass surface, with the bar ends being clamped in place using stainless steel, patented Georgi clips.

The traditional, "putty glazed" appearance is provided by chamfered sashes and bars externally.

Mitred Corner Joints and Finishing

For those seeking quality with a restricted budget, Melody is most likely your best option.

Although Melody has mitred corner joints, the deep bottom rails and run through horns are still made with mortice and tennoned vertical joints for an authentic appearance. Textured and grained acrylic wood foil is standard, but a reduction for a flat gloss finish is also available for Harmony windows.

Additionally have the option of black frames with white sashes, or any "Farrow and Ball" or "RAL" coloured paint you wish to select is still available on Harmony windows.

Colour suited locks

All Bygone Melody sash windows are fitted with a single or pair of solid stainless steel cam catches along with face fixed keeps.  A pair of patented and unique, right and left hand cams will centralise large sashes within their frame providing better security.  Additionally, even single cams are attached with three screws so you can be confident that Bygone cams will not be forced apart.

Each keep is attached by four screws, two vertically for alignment of the window and two horizontally into the internal steel reinforcing.  To protect the stainless steel claw’s plated surface, each keep is always fitted with a special nylon insert.

With Beehive or Acorn shaped release knobs and cams being a standard options for Bygone Melody windows, the Bygone Porcelain ball design is also available as an extra option.
