Agate Grey Composite Door Installation

Agate Grey Composite Door Installation

After purchasing a fairly new build home our clients wanted to inject some of their own personality into the entrance of their home with a new replacement door.

After visiting our showroom they had decided on a door from our English Door Company range. They loved the timber look that the rage offers whilst still being manufactured from a composite panel giving low maintenance, a must for modern family life. After looking at a number of doors our clients felt that the timber alternative door would add a touch of class to the entrance and contrast well against the traditional brickwork.

Having looked at our colour palette our clients choose Agate Grey as the colour for the door and door frame. The agate grey colour is a neutral and timeless colour that works well with most home a great colour when matched with white render of red brickwork. The panelled door in agate grey is a very popular choice amongst our customers which is no surprise as it offers a timeless and elegant look to any home. The historic relevance of the traditional panelled door ensures it will stand the test of time.

To further ensure that the new door ties in with the windows installed throughout the house, the homeowners choose black hardware to tie in with the black windows. Doctors knocker, letterplate and escutcheon have all been supplied in an aged black giving the look and feel of traditional pewter hardware made popular in the Victorian era.

To the side of the entrance door we supplied a agate grey sidelight with frosted glass featuring a line detailed around the border. The side light is a great way to bring in extra light to your property as well as adding style to the entrance.

As with all our doors security is a high factor and we ensure all of our products feature the latest in locking technology keeping both you and your home safe.

Both the door and frame have been designed to closely imitate timber, if you look closely at the detail you will see that this door stands out from a regular composite door as its details have been carefully considered. The Frame has some stand out features that aren't available on a standard composite door frame. The edge of the frame has a decorative rebate just as you would find on the frame of a standard timber door. The joins of the frame have a vertical mechanical butt join as apposed to a welded 45 degree graft, the side light frame has similar detail. The door itself features a number of butt joins and careful proportioning of panels again to closely imitate timber. Combined with the agate grey timber effect foil finish it is really hard to distinguish this door from a true timber entrance door.

We supplied the door with a flush threshold which is both a stronger and lower threshold than you traditionally find on a composite door. The flush threshold is a great addition for family as it makes bringing wheeled objects into the home easier such as prams, bikes, scooters and more not mentioned the reduced trip hazard.

The finished result is a classic and timeless look, one that we are sure will stand the test of time and create envy amongst the neighbours. We love the choice of colour and have seen an increase of in both interest and popularity of product in agate grey both windows and doors, a very versatile colour that suits both traditional and modern properties alike.
